The more we repeat something to ourselves, or about ourselves, over and over the more it becomes a hardwired-thought in our mind and acts like a fact (even if it isn’t one). We don’t have to go through the process of evaluating whether that thought is true or not anymore, because it is hardwired into our brain. Our thoughts go to that destination, like a train on a track, and we begin to believe it.
Whether it may be things someone has spoken over us, or something we have spoken over ourselves, we may find that our minds are filled with hardwired lies that don’t come from God. At Alabaster Armoury we are passionate about helping people find the truth about themselves and equipping them to retrain their brain to be hardwired to God’s word. It is possible, you know, to retrain your brain. Perhaps you have identified a particular lie that you have believed for some time - to combat this, every time you have that thought or think about that thing, replace the statement your mind automatically goes to with a statement from Scripture. The truth.
Our Truth Cards are pocket-sized artworks with the purpose of enabling the user to read and learn Scripture, allowing it to shape their mind.
The pack is split into two types of cards: one containing a Bible verse and a statement of truth which we have extracted from that Bible verse, and the other containing journal prompts. These are practical suggestions for ways in which the user can journal through the Scriptures provided, commit them to memory, and turn them into prayers. They are designed to help you go a little bit deeper in your interaction with the verses and to enrich your quiet time/journaling experience.
The aim of these cards is to equip the user with a starting point for intentionally seeking out God’s transformation in their lives through Scripture, and the technique to continue this for themselves beyond just the verses on the cards. They are small enough to be put in your pocket, stuck to your mirror, used as a bookmark or displayed on your wall. They are intended to be used and reused, visited day after day. We are not just creating a cute Bible verse card, we want to see people transformed by The Word as they spend time in it each day. For young people in particular, these are designed to be an easy way to begin a habit of spending time with the Lord. They also come with a one-month challenge to help the user see progress week by week in their interaction with Scripture, as well as an introductory booklet with top-tips for starting your quiet time journey, and a handy breakdown of some words and phrases you’ll find throughout the pack.
